Hola a tothom!☀️

Em dic Chloé, tinc 22 anys i sóc francesa. Després de batxillerat vaig anar a la universitat i em vaig graduar en comunicació. Tot i que vull continuar estudiant, vaig decidir fer una pausa. Necessito reenfocar-me, millorar l’anglès i reprendre l’espanyol (que fa temps que no practico) i fer coses noves que m’obliguin a pensar fora de la caixa! Aquesta idea de ser voluntaria a Espanya va sorgir de les intenses ganes que tenia de viatjar però també de poder ser útil. Vaig decidir formar part de la Víbria Intercultural perquè era un molt bon compromís entre els meus estudis i els meus desitjos, per la meva missió que és molt interessant per a mi, tant a nivell personal com professional.

És la primera vegada que estic lluny de la meva vida a França durant tant de temps i no és fàcil. Però és important desafiar-te i fer les coses sense pensar-m’ho massa (que és el que faig normalment jaja). Va ser un gran repte per a mi, però ho vaig aconseguir, ara sóc aquí i n’estic molt orgullosa.

Quan vaig arribar aquí a Terrassa, vaig tenir molta por al principi de moltes coses. Descobrim un nou país, una nova cultura, estem envoltats exclusivament de gent nova, comencem una nova missió, descobrim la vida en comunitat… La veritat, no és fàcil, però aprenem molt cada dia. El més important per a mi que has d’aprendre quan vius aquest tipus d’experiència és aprendre a posar les coses en perspectiva i adonar-te de la sort que tens de viure tot això. Has de viure el moment present i assaborir-lo perquè no tornarà a passar mai més. 

Fa dos mesos que estic aquí i puc parlar una mica més de quina és la meva feina. Treballo a l’oficina de víbria i el meu paper és força variat. Oficialment la meva funció és treballar en comunicació, més concretament gestionar la part de xarxes socials: realització de vídeos, fotos, històries, etc. Però també m’ocupo de publicar ofertes de voluntariat (de diferents missions i països) a la web de vibria; publicar articles de voluntaris; i crear imatges a Canva per il·lustrar el meu treball. Aquesta és la part del treball “formal”, però també participo en projectes de vibria: sobretot el jobcast, o el projecte connESCtion on la majoria de les vegades filmo, i faig fotos per crear continguts i així impulsar la comunitat que segueix l’associació. Em sembla molt interessant no fer sempre les mateixes coses perquè quan vaig arribar aquí em vaig adonar que sóc més feliç si sé que el meu dia serà diferent dels altres. Aquest voluntariat també us permet conèixer més sobre vosaltres mateixos, les vostres necessitats, els vostres desitjos i qui sou realment.

Pel que fa a la ciutat, és agradable passejar perquè els paisatges són força bonics, destacant el parc de Vallparadis, Ullastrell, la Mola… És clar que us recomano anar a Barcelona perquè hi ha molts museus i molts llocs per passejar, i Tinc la temptació de veure Barcelona per Nadal!

També recomano anar almenys una vegada a Sitges que és un lloc molt pintoresc al meu entendre i que és totalment diferent de Barcelona.

Hello everybody ! ☀️

My name is Chloé, I am 22 years old, and I am French. After high school I went to university and got a degree in communications. Despite the fact that I want to continue studying, I decided to take a break. I need to refocus on myself, improve my English and pick up Spanish (which I haven’t practiced for a long time) and do new things that force me to think outside the box! This idea of being a volunteer in Spain came from the intense desire I had to travel but also to be able to be useful. I decided to be part of the Víbria Intercultural because it was a very good compromise between my studies and my desires, due to my mission which is very interesting for me, both personally and professionally.
This is the first time I’ve been away from my life in France for such a long time and it’s not easy. But it’s important to challenge yourself and do things without thinking too much (which is what I normally do haha). It was a big challenge for me, but I did it, I’m here now and I’m very proud of it.

When I arrived here in Terrassa, I was very afraid at the beginning of many things. We discover a new country, a new culture, we are surrounded exclusively by new people, we begin a new mission, we discover life in a community… To tell the truth, it’s not easy, but we learn a lot every day. The really important thing for me that you have to learn when you live this kind of experience is to learn to put things into perspective and realize how lucky you are to experience all of this. You have to live in the present moment and savor it so it will never happen again.

I’ve been here for two months now, and I can talk a little more about what my job is. I work in the vibria office and my role is quite varied. Officially my role is to work in communication, more specifically manage the social networks part: making videos, photos, stories, etc. But I also take care of publishing volunteer offers (from various missions and countries) on the vibria website; publish volunteers’ articles; and create visuals on Canva to illustrate my work. This is the part of the “formal” work but I also participate in vibria projects: notably the jobcast, or the connESCtion project where most of the time I film, and take photos to create content and thus boost the community that follows the association. I find it really interesting not to always do the same things because I realized when I arrived here that I am happier if I know that my day is going to be different from others. This volunteering also allows you to learn more about yourself, your needs, your desires, and who you really are in the end.

Regarding the city itself, it’s nice to walk around because the landscapes are quite pretty, notably the Vallparadis park, Ullastrell, la Mola… Of course I recommend going to Barcelona because there are lots of museums and lots of places to walk, and I’m tempted to see Barcelona at Christmas time!
I also recommend going at least once to Sitges which is a very picturesque place in my opinion and which is totally different from Barcelona.
