Vaja! Costa de creure que fa vuit mesos que vaig començar a fer voluntariat a Espanya! Aquest viatge ha estat fantàstic, però ha volat molt ràpidament!

Estic escrivint el meu últim article i, al mateix temps, no em puc creure que és gairebé el final…

Aquesta oportunitat ha proporcionat el teló de fons perfecte per a una experiència que mai oblidaré a la meva vida. Després de vuit mesos transformadors a Espanya, puc dir que la meva experiència de voluntariat m’ha canviat la vida.

Quan vaig aterrar per primera vegada a Barcelona, ​​em va sorprendre la bellesa i l’energia de la ciutat. L’arquitectura icònica, els mercats animats i les places animades es sentien tan acollidores. Però, per molt emocionant que va ser, començar no va ser fàcil. El meu castellà era pràcticament inexistent, i acostumar-me a una nova cultura va costar una mica.

Una de les millors parts d’aquesta experiència ha estat la gent increïble que he conegut. Vam compartir i viure moltes coses junts, rialles, xerrades nocturnes i aventures. Van ser un gran suport mentre vaig navegar per aquest nou capítol de la meva vida.

Estic molt agraïda amb els meus nous amics que he conegut aquí. Em van ajudar a sentir-me com a casa i a practicar una mica espanyol. Al principi, amb prou feines podia encadenar una frase, però amb la pràctica diària i molta ajuda dels meus nous amics, a poc a poc vaig començar a entendre-ho.

Treballar amb La Víbria va ser el cor de la meva experiència. La meva funció consistia a organitzar tallers educatius, ajudar en els processos d’enviament i acollida de formacions i intercanvis d’Erasmus+, esdeveniments locals, facilitar sessions de formació i treballar en dissenys de xarxes socials. Durant l’acollida de diferents projectes aquí, també vaig conèixer moltes persones increïbles.

Implicar-se en la comunitat local és increïble. Perquè cada dijous organitzem diferents activitats al Baumann Bar, he après molt i he desenvolupat moltes habilitats importants amb mi mateixa. També és una bona manera de conèixer gent local i gaudir de les tardes assolellades amb ells.

Finalment, aquest viatge amb La Víbria ha estat una gran experiència d’aprenentatge. He desenvolupat habilitats en gestió de projectes, comunicació, disseny gràfic i col·laboració intercultural. Viure en una ciutat estrangera em va obligar a adaptar-me i a pensar amb una perspectiva molt més àmplia. A més, aprendre espanyol va ser una fita important. Ara puc mantenir converses i sentir-me molt més connectada amb la comunitat.

Mirant enrere els meus vuit mesos aquí, em sento molt agraïda per l’experiència. El voluntariat aquí m’ha permès tenir un impacte positiu, créixer com a persona i crear records duradors. Les amistats que he fet i les lliçons que he après em quedaran per sempre.

Barcelona sempre tindrà un lloc especial al meu cor, i no puc esperar a veure on em porta aquest viatge.

Wow! It’s hard to believe it’s been eight months since I started volunteering in Spain! This journey has been amazing but has flown so quickly!

I am writing my last article and at the same time, I cannot believe that it’s almost the end…

This opportunity has provided the perfect backdrop for an experience I’ll never forget in my life. After eight transformative months in Spain, I can say that my volunteering experience has been life-changing.

When I first landed in Barcelona, I was blown away by the city’s beauty and energy. The iconic architecture, the bustling markets, and the lively plazas all felt so welcoming. But, as exciting as it was, starting out wasn’t all smooth sailing. My Spanish was pretty much non-existent, and getting used to a new culture took some time.

One of the best parts of this experience has been the incredible people I’ve met. We shared and experienced many things together, laughs, late-night talks, and adventures. They were a huge support as I navigated this new chapter in my life.

I am really grateful to my new friends who I met here. They helped me feel at home and practice un poco Spanish. At first, I could barely string a sentence together, but with daily practice and a lot of help from my new friends, I slowly started to get the hang of it.

Working with La Vibria was the heart of my experience. My role involved organising educational workshops, helping in processes of sending and hosting erasmus+ trainings and exchanges, local events, facilitating training sessions and work on social media designs. During hosting different projects here, I also met so many amazing individuals.

Getting involved with the local community is incredible. Because every Thursday we organise different activities at Baumann Bar I learnt a lot and developed many important skills in myself. It’s also a great way to meet local people and enjoy sunny evenings with them.

Finally, this journey with La Vibria has been a huge learning experience. I’ve developed skills in project management, communication, graphic design and cross-cultural collaboration. Living in a foreign city forced me to adapt and think on my feet. Plus, learning Spanish was a major milestone. Now, I can hold conversations and feel much more connected to the community.

Looking back on my eight months here, I feel so grateful for the experience. Volunteering here allowed me to make a positive impact, grow as a person, and create lasting memories. The friendships I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned will stay with me forever.

Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next..
