Hola a tothom.

Soc l’Anton, un voluntari d’Alemanya, i aquest serà el meu tercer i últim article per a La Vibria.

Aquest any de voluntariat està arribant a la seva fi, en menys d’un mes tenim el nostre últim dia de treball. Em sembla estrany pensar-hi, perquè recordo molt bé aquells primers dies aquí a Terrassa, conèixer tots els altres voluntaris, descobrir amb entusiasme Terrassa i sentir com onze mesos serà molt de temps -i ara sembla que no va ser tant de temps-.
Crec que un factor important per a mi és la manera en què ens van acceptar a Fupar, el lloc on treballo. Des del principi la gent va ser molt amable amb nosaltres, perdonant-nos de tots els errors que vam cometre parlant espanyol i simplement benvingut. A causa d’això, en algun moment es va convertir en una rutina, en un lloc familiar amb molta gent amable i -a diferència d’acabar l’escola l’any passat- gens d’estrès.
Estic realment contenta que hagi pogut tenir aquest any aquí -és un privilegi-.

Em va costar molt parlar de totes les coses que vaig aprendre a la feina, de la vida de les persones amb discapacitat, de la cultura espanyola i catalana i de viure sola en un altre país per primera vegada. Però tota aquesta experiència m’estava ensenyant molt, sobre els altres i sobre mi mateix.
En definitiva, recomanaria aquest tipus d’experiència a qualsevol que estigui pensant en això.
Vaig fer nous amics al llarg del camí, companys voluntaris aquí a Terrassa, però també persones que vaig conèixer en seminaris, totes amb diferents visions i experiències.
Tot i que el meu temps aquí s’acaba, els records i les amistats es quedaran amb mi.
Em surt del que el futur té i recordarà aquest any per sempre.

Hello everybody,

I am Anton, a volunteer from Germany, and this is going to be my third and last article for La Vibria.

This year of volunteering is coming to an end, in less than a month we have our last day of work. It feels weird to think about it, because I can remember those first days here in Terrassa really well, getting to know all the other volunteers, eagerly discovering Terrassa and feeling like 11 months is going to be such a long time – and now it feels like it was not that long at all.
I think a big factor for that for me is the way we got accepted at Fupar, the place I work at. From the start the people were really kind to us, forgiving with all the mistakes we made speaking spanish and just wellcoming. Due to that at some point down the line it all became more like a routine, a familiar place with a lot of kind people and – in contrast to finishing school last year – no stress at all.
I am really happy that I was able to have that year here – it is a privilege.

It would take up to much time to talk about all the things I learned at work, about the life of people with disabilities, about the spanish and the catalan culture and about living alone in another country for the first time. But this whole experience was teaching me a lot, about others and about myself.
All in all I would recommend that kind of experience to anyone who might be thinking about it.
I made new friends along the way, fellow volunteers here in Terrassa, but also people I met on seminars, all with different views and experiences.
Even though my time here is coming to an end, the memories and friendships will stay with me.
I am exited about what the future holds and will remeber this year for ever.
