Benvingut de nou,

a contes estranyes de Terrassa i més enllà. Ha passat molta cosa des de la darrera vegada que vam parlar. Deixa’m posar-te al dia.

Bé, va fer més fred i després va arribar el Nadal. Vaig tornar a casa, a Alemanya, per les vacances. Aquell petit descans de la turbulenta Vida de Voluntariat va ser agradable.

Welcome back,

to weird tales from Terrassa and beyond. A lot has happened since we last heard from each other. Let me get you up to speed.

Well, it got colder and then Christmas happened. I went home to Germany for the holidays. That little break from the turbulent Volunteering Life was nice.

Fotografia

Abans de tornar a Espanya, em vaig comprar un objectiu de Telefotografia. Amb una distància focal de 800mm, és perfecte per capturar coses que estan lluny.

Amb el temps més bo i els dies més llargs, estic explorant més els camins d’excursió al voltant de Terrassa.

En les meves petites excursions, he vist algunes de les següents aus:

Photography

Before returning to Spain I bought myself a Telephotography lens. With a focal length of 800mm it’s great for capturing things that are far away.

With the weather being nice and the days getting longer I am exploring more of the hiking paths around Terrassa.

On my little Excursions i have spotted some of the following Birds

Feliç aniversari

Al voltant del meu aniversari vaig tenir l’oportunitat de visitar la Sagrada Família dues vegades. Vaig anar-hi fa anys, així que estava emocionat de veure-la de nou.

Mentre m’hi acostava, les torres creixien i s’alçaven més alt cap al cel. Tenia la meva reserva, així que l’entrada va ser fàcil. A través d’un control de seguretat semblant a l’aeroport i després cap a la petita Plaça davant de les tres portes.

Vaig fer una visita guiada a la Basílica. Vam passar per les diferents estacions i vam aprendre quines decoracions artístiques havien estat influenciades per quin temps, país o artista.

Després de la visita, vaig tenir l’oportunitat d’ascendir a una de les torres. La vista era gegantina i, sent el punt més alt de la ciutat, es podia veure tot.

Quant a la segona vegada que vaig visitar la Basílica, vaig portar el meu nou objectiu de telefoto per capturar alguns dels detalls increïbles que hi ha per tot arreu. Estan molt lluny i normalment no es poden capturar amb càmeres de telèfon intel·ligent o amb “objectius de càmera comuns”.

Així que vaig passar el temps restant caminant per allí, buscant bons llocs per fer fotos.

Happy Birthday

Sometime around my Birthday I had the opportunity to visit the Sagrada Familia twice. I went there years ago so I was excited to see it again.

While approaching, the towers grow larger and reach higher into the sky. I had my reservation so the entry was easy. Through an airport style security check and then onto the small Plaza at the three doors.

I had a guided Tour through the Basilica. We went through the different stations and learned which artistic decorations have been influenced by which time, country or artist.

After the tour I had the opportunity to go up on one of the towers. The View was gigantic and it being the highest point in the city, you could see everything.

As for the second time I visited the Basilica I took my new telephoto lens to capture some of the incredible details that are everywhere. They are just very far away and cant usually be captured with smartphone cameras or “everyday camera lenses”.

So I spend the remaining time walking around looking for good spots to take pictures from.

Esdeveniments a Barcelona

A part de la Sagrada Família, hi ha més coses que passen.
Per exemple, el dimecres vaig visitar l’“ISE 25”. L’ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) és una gran exposició que té lloc cada any a Barcelona. Tot el que té a veure amb les tecnologies d’àudio, vídeo i pantalles es presenta aquí. Des de Microsoft fins a Black Magic Design. Pots trobar-hi de tot. Quatre hores no van ser suficients per veure totes les càmeres, les llums, els altaveus, els sales d’àudio. Al final et veus aclaparat per la quantitat de gent, el soroll i les llums en flash.

Pel que fa a les llums.

Just després de l’exposició, hi va haver grans instal·lacions lumíniques per tot Poble Nou, Barcelona. Les instal·lacions formaven part del “LLUM BCN 25”, un gran festival de llums, sons i altres creacions artístiques. Hi havia de tot, des de projectes d’estudiants amb pressió de temps fins a instal·lacions completes de làser, projectant imatges al cel amb un sistema d’àudio 3D que creava una atmosfera radiant que es podia escoltar des de lluny. I com que els espectacles comencen a la nit, les instal·lacions brillants tenen un impacte més gran.

Happenings in Barcelona

Apart from the Sagrada Familia there are more things happening.

For Example on Wednesday i visited the “ISE 25”. The ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) is a big Exposition, happening Every Year in Barcelona. Everything that is about Audio, Video and Display technologies is being displayed here. From Microsoft to Black Magic Design. You can find Everything here. Four hours was not enough time to see all the cameras, the lights, the speakers, the audio-showrooms. At last you get overwhelmed by the amount of People, the Noise and the flashing Lights.

On the Topic of Lights.

Right after the Expo there were big light installations all over Poble Nou, Barcelona. The installations were part of the “LLUM BCN 25”, a big festival of lights, sound and other artistic creations. You had everything from deadline-pressure-student-projects to full-on laser light installations, projecting images into the sky with a 3D Audio system creating a radiant ambience that could be heard from far away. And since the shows start in the late evening, the shining installations have a bigger impact.
