Me llamo Giulia y soy de Roma 🇮🇹 💛❤️

Llegue en Mataró hace dos meses y la verdad es que aún tengo que acostumbrarme al cambio de vida !

Esta no es mi primera experiencia de voluntariado, ayudé en muchos proyectos educativos en Perù y hice el Servicio Civil el año pasado en una escuelita bilingüe in Ecuador pero esta es la primera vez que estoy colaborando con un CRAE. Que decir ? Me encanta lo que estoy haciendo aún que, no se lo quiero esconder, de vez en cuando es un poco difícil a nivel emocional.

Por suerte no estoy sola, al regresar a la casa tengo mis tres compañeras de piso, Giulia, Elisavet y Zeynep que siempre están si quiero compartir mis emociones. Gracias a las chicas estoy aprendiendo el inglés que siempre ha sido un desafío muy complejo para mi y ya que es el idioma que practicamos más en la casa tuve que empezar a esforzarme para poder comunicar y la verdad es que me encanta y estoy verdaderamente feliz de tener esta buenísima oportunidad para aprenderlo (gracias chikisss 💋)

En el voluntariado me voy alternando con Zeynep, mi roomie de Turquía, y lo que tenemos que hacer es ayudar al día día los educadores y estar con las chicas y los chicos apoyándolas emocionalmente o simplemente ayudándolas con los deberes o con sus tascas diarias (lavadora, secadora, ordenar habitaciones…)

Mataró es como si fuera un pueblo pero muy grande, tiene un centro histórico muy lindo con callecitas estrechas que me acuerdan las de los pueblitos en Italia …

Estoy agradecida de vivir tan cerca del mar y que al darme la vuelta puedo admirar las montañas.

Hello everyone!!!

My name is Giulia, and I’m from Rome 🇮🇹 💛❤️

I arrived in Mataró two months ago, and the truth is I still need to get used to the change of life!

This is not my first volunteering experience; I helped in many educational projects in Peru and did Civil Service last year in a bilingual school in Ecuador, but this is the first time I am collaborating with a CRAE (Residential Center for Children and Adolescents). What can I say? I love what I’m doing, even though, I won’t hide it, sometimes it’s a bit emotionally difficult.

Luckily, I’m not alone. When I get back home, I have my three housemates, Giulia, Elisavet, and Zeynep, who are always there if I want to share my emotions. Thanks to the girls, I’m learning English, which has always been a very complex challenge for me, and since it’s the language we practice the most at home, I had to start making an effort to communicate, and the truth is, I love it, and I’m really happy to have this great opportunity to learn it (thanks, girls 💋).

In the volunteering, I alternate with Zeynep, my Turkish roommate, and what we have to do is help the educators on a daily basis and be with the girls and boys, supporting them emotionally or simply helping them with their homework or daily tasks (washing machine, dryer, tidying up rooms…).

Mataró feels like a small town but very big. It has a very beautiful historical center with narrow streets that remind me of the little villages in Italy…

I’m grateful to live so close to the sea, and when I turn around, I can admire the mountains.
