Bon dia a tothom,

Soc l’Elena una altra vegada per donar-vos una petita actualització dels últims mesos! Per a aquells que no em coneixeu, soc voluntària a Fupar, aquí a Terrassa, Barcelona, Espanya, Europa. Han passat moltes coses i el temps vola. Ja som a l’abril i finalment ha arribat una mena de “primavera” per aquí. Això també vol dir que la gent de Marconi per fi pot gaudir de la nostra gran i increïble terrassa.

El meu horari de feina ha canviat una mica, ara tinc una mica més de temps lliure i també tinc activitats noves amb persones diferents. Tot va molt bé i passar temps amb els nois em dóna molta alegria! A més, quan la gent a la feina parla en català entre ells, ja no és una llengua secreta, perquè entenc força coses, i fins i tot tinc el nivell d’un nen de cinc anys. Abans que acabi el voluntariat, vull arribar a parlar com un nen de deu anys — aquest és l’objectiu. He començat a llegir llibres en castellà i això m’ajuda molt en el meu aprenentatge.

Bon dia everybody,

It’s me Elena again to give you a little update on the last few months! For those of you who don’t know me, I am a volunteer at Fupar here in Terrassa, Barcelona, Spain, Europe. A lot has happened and time is flying away. It’s already April and finally something like „spring“ has come around here. This also means that us Marconi people can finally hang out on our big amazing terrace.

My work schedule changed a little, I now have a little bit more free time and I also have new activities with different people. Everything is going super well and spending time with the guys gives me a lot of joy! Besides, when people at work speak Catalan to each other, it’s not a secret language anymore, because I understand quite a lot, and even have the language skills of a five year old. By the end of the volunteering, I want to be able to speak like a 10 year old, that’s the goal. I started to read Spanish books and that helps my learning progress a lot.

També he fet els 20 anys, així que ja he deixat enrere l’adolescència oficialment. Al febrer, la meva família i jo vam passar una setmana a Madrid i em va encantar explorar una altra part d’Espanya. Vam visitar alguns museus i vam passejar per diversos barris; el meu preferit va ser Chueca.

Also I turned 20, now I officially left my teenage years behind me. In February, my family and I spent a week in Madrid and I enjoyed exploring a different part of Spain. We went to some museums and walked around different neighborhoods, my favorite was Chueca.

Després, al març, vaig anar a la trobada de mitja estada a Màlaga, on vam coincidir més de 80 voluntaris de tot arreu d’Espanya, i va ser una experiència molt intensa però molt bonica. D’aquí dues setmanes, em trobaré amb la meva companya d’habitació de Màlaga a Barcelona, abans que torni a casa seva.

A part d’això, vam anar a un altre partit del Barça femení, tot i que va ploure, ens ho vam passar molt bé. Durant la Setmana Santa vaig fer un viatge amb la meva germana i la meva tieta, i va ser genial tornar-les a veure. Els meus plans de futur s’han tornat molt més concrets: ara ja sé què vull estudiar després del programa, i puc relaxar-me i gaudir dels últims mesos a Terrassa, una ciutat que estimo molt ❤

Then, in March, I went to the mid-term meeting in Málaga where we met over 80 volunteers from all parts of Spain, which was a very intense but beautiful experience. In two weeks, I am meeting my Malaga roommate in Barcelona, before she goes back home.

Other than that, we went to another Barcelona women’s football match, which was rainy but fun. During Semana Santa I went on a trip with my sister and aunt, and it was great to see them again. My plans for the future have become a lot more concrete, I now know what I want to study after the programm and can relax and enjoy the last months in Terrassa, a city that I love very much ❤
