Senyores i senyors,

Hola a tothom,

Fa una mica de temps des de la meva última entrada al diari i, a poc a poc, la vida quotidiana aquí a Terrassa ha començat a ser més familiar. A la feina, estic guanyant confiança en el meu rol a LaFact Fupar. Les rutines són més clares i em sento més còmoda acompanyant les persones durant les activitats. Tot i que la comunicació en castellà (i de vegades en català) encara és un repte, noto petites millores. Entenc més que abans i tinc menys por d’equivocar-me. També pregunto molt més als meus companys i companyes sobre frases i vocabulari en castellà, cosa que m’ajuda molt a continuar aprenent la llengua.

Fora de la feina, recentment he tingut l’oportunitat d’explorar més la regió. Amb alguns altres voluntaris, vaig visitar Montserrat. Hi vam fer una excursió i vam passar el dia envoltats de natura i de vistes increïbles. Ho recomano molt si sou a Terrassa o als voltants
L’hivern aquí és definitivament més suau que a Alemanya, cosa que agraeixo molt.

Tot i així, noto que els mesos més freds fan que tant la feina com el temps lliure siguin una mica més exigents. Ja tinc ganes que arribin els mesos més càlids, quan estar a fora serà més fàcil i agradable. M’imagino que les activitats a la feina, així com el temps compartit amb altres voluntaris, seran encara més agradables quan arribin la primavera i l’estiu. Aquests dies, les temperatures han pujat una mica, i ja en noto els efectes: l’ambient és més alegre i hi ha més coses a fer tant a la feina com en el meu temps lliure.

La setmana passada vam anar a la formació intermèdia a Mollina, a Màlaga. El viatge va ser bastant intens, amb 12 hores de trajecte i uns 70 voluntaris més. Tot i això, també va ser una oportunitat per conèixer gent nova de tot Europa —i fins i tot d’altres llocs— que viuen i fan voluntariat a diferents parts d’Espanya.

En general, continuo sentint que aquesta experiència m’està transformant de moltes maneres. Pas a pas, m’estic adaptant, aprenent i sent cada vegada més present en la meva vida quotidiana aquí. Tinc curiositat per veure com es desenvoluparan els pròxims mesos i quines noves experiències m’esperen.

Ladies and gentlemen, 

Hello everyone,

It has been a little while since my last diary entry, and by now daily life here in Terrassa has started to feel more familiar. At work, I am slowly becoming more confident in my role at LaFact Fupar. The routines are clearer, and I feel more comfortable accompanying the people during activities. Even though communication in Spanish (and sometimes Catalan) is still challenging, I notice small improvements. I understand more than before, and I am less afraid of making mistakes. I also ask my coworkers a lot more about Spanish phrases and vocabulary, which definitely helps with learning more of the language.

Outside of work, I recently had the opportunity to explore more of the region. Together with a few other volunteers, I visited Montserrat. We went hiking there and spent the day surrounded by nature and incredible views. I can highly recommend going there if you’re in Terrassa or the surrounding area by chance.

Winter here is definitely milder than in Germany, which I am grateful for. Still, I notice that the colder months make both work and free time a bit more demanding. I am already looking forward to the warmer months, when being outside will feel easier and more enjoyable. I imagine that activities at work, as well as time spent with other volunteers, will become even more pleasant once spring and summer arrive. These days, the Temperatures have increased a bit, which I can already feel the consequences of. The mood brightens up and there is more stuff to do both at work and in my free time.

Last week, we went to the midterm training in Mollina, Málaga. The trip was quite intense, with 12 hours of traveling and around 70 other volunteers. However, it was also a chance to meet new people from all over Europe – and even beyond – living and volunteering in all parts of Spain. 

Overall, I continue to feel that this experience is shaping me in many ways. Step by step, I am settling in, learning, and becoming more present in my everyday life here. I am curious to see how the next months will unfold and what new experiences are still waiting for me.
