HELLO!!!!

This week is my turn to share part of my voluntary life in Terrassa with you.
I am Stanislava, 24 years old, from a small city in the northern part of Slovakia- Čadca.

I wanted to volunteer for several years but have always been busy with studies. After I finally finished my master’s degree in International Sport Management I decided the time to do it is NOW. Why? I am very passionate about sports, mainly team ones, ball ones, but I do like to run, climb and hiking very much too! What always fascinated me was how powerfull sport is. Is so great how people can feel after sports performance. I also met so many amazing people when I played basketball in Slovakia or Netherlands. The sport was always the way for me to become the best version. Built my character, my attitudes, bring me new friends and make me happy.

I wanted to share this passion with others! Wanted to see others being happy through participating in sports. AND I am in the right place! I am volunteering in FUPAR where I have almost every day some sport activity with people of mainly mental disabilities, together we play games such as Basketball, Football, Table Tennis, Hockey. We also working on starting the new activity running for them! It has been already amazing to see how people feel when they exercise the huge smile when they scored,…and there is more days to come. Honestly, this has been a month of great moments.

Except of doing sports activities we also socialize in cooking sessions or Grupos de amigos with people from FUPA, we play board games, watch movies or do what they have taste for. They are very friendly, very funny and caring about us too!

This month I was able to explore Terrassa with my cool flatmates, some of the beautiful streets, restaurants, cafes. The sun is so gooooood! But when is cold in the evening is really freezing.

The other Sunday we had a meeting with local volunteers where we could find somebody we match with to be our mentor for next month here. We had some drinks and food and a nice conversation.

On Valentine’s day my boyfriend Ronaldo came to visit me and we spend a beautiful day together. He is my biggest support and was very nice to see him trying my job. Also, we went to see a bit of the nature of Terrasa and the city of Barcelona. We played some games later with roommates such as Uno, Spyfall and Who I am. Was very lovely!

Would like to explore Catalunya more in coming weeks. Will inform you in my second article.

Aquesta setmana em toca compartir amb vosaltres part de la meva vida voluntària a Terrassa.
Sóc Stanislava, tinc 24 anys, d’una petita ciutat a la part nord d’Eslovàquia, Čadca.

Feia molts anys que volia ser voluntària però sempre he estat ocupada amb els estudis. Després d’acabar finalment el meu màster en Gestió Esportiva Internacional, vaig decidir que el moment de fer-ho era ARA. Per què? M’apassionen molt els esports, principalment els d’equip, els de pilota, però també m’agrada molt córrer, escalar i fer senderisme! El que sempre m’ha fascinat és la força que té l’esport. És tan fantàstic com es pot sentir la gent després del rendiment esportiu. També vaig conèixer moltes persones increïbles quan jugava a bàsquet a Eslovàquia o Holanda. L’esport sempre és el camí per convertir-me en la millor versió. Construir el meu caràcter, les meves actituds, portar-me nous amics i fer-me feliç.

Volia compartir aquesta passió amb els altres! Volia veure que els altres són feliços fent esport. I estic al lloc correcte! Sóc voluntària a FUPAR on pràcticament cada dia faig alguna activitat esportiva amb persones principalment discapacitades psíquiques, junts juguem a jocs com Bàsquet, Futbol, Tennis Taula, Hoquei. També estem treballant per començar la nova activitat en marxa per a ells! Ja ha estat increïble veure com se sent la gent quan entrena, l’enorme somriure quan marca,… i encara queden més dies. Sincerament, aquest ha estat un mes de grans moments.

A part de fer activitats esportives també ens socialitzem en sessions de cuina o Grups d’amics amb gent de FUPAR, juguem a jocs de taula, mirem pel·lícules o fem el que els agrada. Són molt amables, molt divertits i també es preocupen per nosaltres!

Aquest mes he pogut explorar Terrassa amb els meus companys de pis genials, alguns dels bonics carrers, restaurants, cafeteries. El sol és tan booooo! Però quan fa fred al vespre és realment glacial.

L’altre diumenge vam tenir una reunió amb voluntaris locals on vam poder trobar algú amb qui coincidim per ser el nostre mentor el mes vinent aquí. Vam beure, menjar i conversar agradablement.

El dia de Sant Valentí el meu xicot Ronaldo va venir a visitar-me i vam passar un dia preciós junts. Ell és el meu suport més gran i em va agradar molt veure’l provant la meva feina. A més, vam anar a veure una mica la natura de Terrasa i la ciutat de Barcelona. Més tard vam jugar a alguns jocs amb companys de pis com Uno, Spyfall i Who I am. Va ser molt bonic!

M’agradaria explorar més Catalunya en les properes setmanes. T’informaré en el meu segon article.
