Hola!! Em dic Elisa, tinc 19 anys i sóc d’un petit poble prop de Viena, Àustria.

He estat vivint des de fa 3 setmanes aquí a Terrassa. Poc temps però ja he viscut i après molt durant aquest temps. Aquesta setmana he tingut l’oportunitat de presentar-me i parlar una mica de la meva vida a Terrassa. Em vaig graduar de secundària a la primavera i sabia que volia quedar-me un temps a l’estranger. Era el meu somni era venir a Espanya i, per sort, vaig trobar el projecte perfecte per a mi aquí a Terrassa.

Treballo com a voluntària a Prodis. Allà estic fent diferents activitats amb persones amb discapacitat com ara pintar, jugar, fer música o de vegades anar junts a la biblioteca. L’altre voluntari internacional de Prodis i jo estem intentant fer un curs d’idioma per ensenyar les nostres llengües natives. Gaudeixo molt de totes aquestes activitats. Els meus moments preferits són quan puc riure amb la gent amb qui estic treballant. I els moments en què ens entenem tot i que la barrera lingüística encara és una mica desafiant per a mi. Però estic practicant el meu castellà cada dia i des d’aquesta setmana també assistim a un  curs de català. Així que estic segura que aviat podré parlar molt més 😉

A més de les meves activitats de voluntariat, vaig tenir l’oportunitat d’explorar Terrassa i també Barcelona. Evidentment vaig fer algunes activitats turístiques, però també em va agradar anar a passejar per explorar totes les diferents zones de la ciutat. Vaig explorar el Parc de Vallparadís i la platja per citar-ne alguns. Amb el meu company de pis vaig provar Tapes i sangria per primera vegada, i em va agradar molt. Aquesta setmana també hi hem anat alguns altres voluntaris i jo al cinema per veure Saw en castellà. Puc dir amb orgull que vaig entendre la meitat de la pel·lícula. Puc dir que tot i no fa gaire temps que sóc que aquí, ja tinc records increïbles. Estic contenta per poder experimentar la vida espanyola. Tothom que he conegut fins ara era molt agradable i tinc ganes de veure què més passarà en el futur.

Hello!! My name is Elisa, I am 19 years old and from a small village close to Vienna, Austria.

I’ve been living here in Terrassa for 3 Weeks now. Only a short time but I already have experienced and learnt a lot during this time. This week I got the opportunity to introduce myself and to talk a little bit about my life in Terrassa. I graduated from Secondary School in spring and knew I wanted to stay some time abroad. It was my dream to come to Spain and luckily, I found the perfect project for me here in Terrassa.

I work as a volunteer at Prodis. There I am doing different activities with disabled people such as painting, playing games, doing music or sometimes we go to the library together. The other international volunteers of Prodis and I are trying to do a language curse to teach our native languages. I enjoy all these activities a lot. My favorite moments are when I can laugh with the people I am working with. And the moments when we understand each other even though the language barrier is still a little challenging for me. But I am practicing my Spanish everyday and since this week, we also attend a Catalan curse. So I’m sure that soon, I’ll be able to talk much more 😉

Besides my volunteering activities I had the chance to explore Terrassa and also Barcelona. I obviously did some touristic activities, but I also enjoyed going for walks to explore all the different areas of the city. I explored the Parc de Vallparadís and the beach to name a few. With my roommate I tried Tapas and Sangria for the first time, and I liked it a lot. This week some other volunteers and I also went to the cinema to watch Saw in Spanish. I can proudly say that I understood half of the movie. I can say that even though I haven’t been here for long, I already made amazing memories. I am glad to be able to experience the Spanish life. Everyone I’ve met so far was super nice and I am excited to see what else will happen in the future.
