ACTIVITY NAME: Be cool, join Prodis!

PLACE: Plaça del Tint, 6 – Terrassa, Barcelona

WHO WE ARE: Prodis is a non-profit social entity that works for and with adults with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, mental disorder in Terrassa and its natural environment. We offer work services, in a protected environment, occupational therapy services, occupational insertion services, housing services, sports and leisure.

WHAT KIND OF VOLUNTEERING DO WE OFFER

We offer a volunteer service where the person is accompanied in all their areas of action. In the morning you will be able to accompany the people we attend to the occupational and training activities that are carried out such as laughter therapy, theater, cafeteria service, personal and social skills workshops, therapeutic walks, etc. In the afternoons we will continue with the activities and training and at 5:00 p.m. the sports club will start operating. We will travel to the corresponding facilities to be able to carry out the different sports (football, basketball, zumba, hockey or athletics). On weekends, you can accompany us to sports competitions or to activities that our center organizes, such as trips to the beach, swimming pool, cinema, museums, etc. Or doing therapeutic outings with someone who resides with their families and needs to give their caregivers a break.

Volunteers will be accompanied by the team of monitors and professionals from our center and will always have their support and follow-up. The schedules will be agreed with the volunteers, so that they can participate in those activities that motivate and like them the most.

REQUIREMENTS

18 – 30 years with basic catalan or spanish knowledge

MOTIVATION FOR THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES

We are searching for:

• An empathetic, active person, who is eager to learn
• Responsible and emotionally stable.
• You need to have the ability to adapt to change and resolve conflicts.
• We expect that you have sensitivity with the groups we work with, not being mandatory that you have experience, although it would be interesting if you do.

WHAT DO WE OFFER

We offer a volunteer service full of unforgettable moments, with learning and knowledge about people with disabilities, cerebral palsy and mental disorders. They want to break stigmas, show what they can do and how they do it and we would like you to join us in this fight and in this challenge.

We offer a weekday mornings or afternoons volunteering alternated with more recreational and sports activities on weekends.

Food money + Pocket money: 285€

PLACE OF THE WORK 

Various spaces in Terrassa: in our facilities in Plaza del Tinte or Calle Pau Marsal, or in our homes located in different neighborhoods of Terrassa (Torresana, Can Tusell or La Cogullada)

WORKING HOURS:

The schedules are 28hours a week with 2 free days. You will be working some weekends.

LANGUAGE COURSE: 4h per week of Catalan course (2 days per week)

HOLIDAYS: 

Holidays may be agreed based on the needs of the volunteer, taking into account that 2 weeks on August will be the established period.

ACCOMODATION:

You will share a full equiped flat with other ESC volunteers at 15minutes of your working place.
